Ancient mystics and modern physicists would agree that everything vibrates, everything has a sound, whether or not we can hear it. Our bodies are more than half water and our cells vibrate to the sound of the human voice.
Singing enables us to relax deeply, and in that state breathing slows, heart rate lowers, both body and mind are calmed. Singing in a group can soothe us, reduce our tension, lift our spirits and give us a sense of belonging.
At The Centre, Zoe runs a drop-in group singing session from 11am to 12 noon on the first Sunday of each month. It’s not a choir, there is no printed music and everything is taught by ear. This is an informal and inclusive space: whoever you are, whatever your identity or experience, you are welcome.
